"When will you realize...Vienna waits for you"

I haven't been down there in a few years, and I'm supposed to meet a guy coming up from Budapest who just called to say he's not sure if he will be able to keep the appointment.

The hell with it. I prepaid the flight and the hotel, so I'm going. I already called a friend there, so I can hang out with him if the other thing falls through. He has a heavy Viennese accent in his German, and just hearing him talk is entertainment in itself. I'll look for some Staud's apricot marmalade (local brand, and the world's best) and return home tomorrow having either wasted my time or not. But I'm not going to rot in my hotel room if the work aspect doesn't materialize.

Well, I sure hope you had a great time in Vienna! It's a beautiful city, as you know better than I do, so having fun is nearly guaranteed.

Just getting old is so not what you're about!

But I had a good time hanging with my local pal, and DID find a store with Staud's limited edition of Merillen (Tyrolean apricot) marmalade, and I bought them out! By the time I got back to my hotel, my arms were hanging two inches longer than they were at the start of the day, but breakfast in Germany is going to be a highlight for the next two months!
