I just "discovered" them.
Apples are so terrible this time of year, these pears are somewhat of a substitute, being more crispy than your average pear.

(287 posts)2. Bosc is one of my favorite types but
all pears are difficult because the window of opportunity for ripeness is so short. It seems like they are hard as a rock for 2 weeks straight and then you get one day of ripe before they are mush.

as I can eat them when they're still a little green.
I love Boscs. Bartletts are a distant second.
