My 6 month diabetes checkup came out good. My A1C was 6.1 and everything else was well within the limits. I'm getting sent off to a dermatologist-she thinks i might have a skin cancer on my ear.
the sad news is that she's retiring at the end of the month. The VA is going to have to find a good replacement for her.

(72,300 posts)1. Sounds like you're doing all the right things for yourself.
I've had a few skin cancer issues taken care of, nothing serious.
I hope the VA finds a good replacement doctor for you.

Keep your average fasting glucose level around 120, and you're all right.
I always heard that the perfect number was 100, so I shoot for that myself.

(66,381 posts)4. 100 if you're non-diabetic, or if you have impaired fasting glucose.
For a full-blown diabetic, 120 or below is considered goal.
