the derogatory slang word for female genitalia "pud" is short for pudendum, Latin for "thing of shame" and can be traced to Greek antecedents found in texts going back 1500+ years BCE, showing that misogyny is at-least 3500 years old and pre-dates the shift in Greco-Roman religion from Gaean (feminine, Earth-mother centric) to Jovian (masculine, patriarchal Olympian sky-cult).

Now you've learned something today. Men have been dicks for millennia and yet, women still put up with us. I was shocked too.

This is the Snake Handler of Minoan Crete, a conceptualization of the Earth-mother and precursor to Gaea.

I knew that when I posted the comment above. (Edit: One of my aunts is from Ohio and says it constantly as a euphemism for lollygagging. "Quit pullin' your pud!&quot Historically though, it's a term for a vagina...rather common as such in Victorian English actually.

The gender-change is interesting but not uncommon. Look at the origins of the word "bimbo" (It's a masculine noun for "little boy" or non-gender-specific "small child" in Italian) for another.
