I know I do and I've never seen anything but kind words to and from her. So, I guess this is my California Peggy appreciation thread!
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,625 posts)Omigod!
Thank you!

(11,546 posts)no doubt.

(27,985 posts)As though I was trolling for California Peggy haters. I'm not and I suspect it would be futile if I were!
Pool Hall Ace
(5,849 posts)I mean, don't get me wrong, I like her! But isn't she on forced ignore with at least one other poster?
Not that she should worry about it or anything. After all, you're nobody 'til somebody loathes you.
tavalon
(27,985 posts)i'm hated by three people. Does that mean I'm three times the somebody?
Pool Hall Ace
(5,849 posts)and I looooove yooooou!

(51,308 posts)that I am.
I have never interacted with them ever. It's still a mystery.
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,625 posts)I've seen both people here.
And yes, it sure is a mystery!

(27,985 posts)I suspect she doesn't even know what the f bomb is! Then again, in RL, she may talk like a sailor. Who knows?
CaliforniaPeggy
(149,625 posts)I fucking use it all the time, lol!

(27,985 posts)You just earned two more coolness points! I fucking love it!
Moondog
(4,833 posts)A charming lady (in the old school sense of the word), with a kind word for all, and malice towards none.
Too bad she lives on the west coast. If she lived on the east coast, I'd drive a fair distance just to meet her and her significant other, and to treat them both to a leisurely lunch and a bottle or two of wine.

(5,390 posts)he moved to Florida. Mom's name Marsha.
What are the chances you are one in the same?
edited to add: wish I had known California Peggy when I lived in California.

(27,985 posts)There were a lot of surfers who called themselves moondog. But stranger things have happened. Sometimes, the world is smaller than we realize.
unapatriciated
(5,390 posts)Yes the world is smaller than we realize. When I first moved to Georgia I found myself working with the daughter of the OB that delivered two of my kids in California.
OriginalGeek
(12,132 posts)but I can contribute.
I grew up in Texas but moved to Florida 28 years ago. I went to school here, met a girl here and am married to her still.
About 5 years into our marriage she got a job at a daycare center where she met and became good friends with a girl who came from Texas. Turns out this girl and her 5 sisters grew up about 10 miles from where I lived for a while in Texas. Furthermore, her older sister worked at a Wataburger one block from the house my friend and I lived in - she was the manager on duty when my friend and I strolled in one day looking for work but she wouldn't hire us because we had long hair.
They all moved to Florida around the same time I did and in the 90s when the Cowboys were having their run of good luck my wife and I went to their parents' house for Superbowl parties. We laughed about that time when older sis didn't hire me and my friend and she admitted remembering us and feeling bad about it too- she wanted to hire us but company policy forbade it and we weren't interested in cutting our hair for the job.
It's OK, Pizza Inn down the street had no problems with our hair and better food.
ANYwayyyyy, I am happy to sign on to a CaliforniaPeggy appreciation thread. Would it be against the rules to create an alt account just so I could sign on twice?
No matter, in my heart I'll always vote twice for CaliforniaPeggy.
Moondog
(4,833 posts)is an old callsign from another life. When I first signed up for DU all of my usual noms de plume were taken, and on short notice it was all I could come up with. And now I'm stuck with it.
My mother's given name was not Marsha.
I do surf, or did, long ago. But that is not the provenance of the screen name.

(5,390 posts)He is a very nice young man and not sure if he ever surfed. His mom like myself were teens in the sixties in California so we are a product of that long ago culture. I however chose more mainstream names for my kids.
Moondog
(4,833 posts)apparently spring from the same culture.
And on behalf of your children -- Thank You.

(27,985 posts)His mom and dad were teens in California in the sixties. He says he was conceived in the summer of love, followed by the fall of "oh, shit". His dad left but his mom raised him and she's still all hippie and mostly cool and only 11 years older than me(16 years older than her son).

(5,390 posts)I did however manage to have four summers before my finale fall.

(18,219 posts)She is just too nice and sweet, and well, that gets old. Hell, someone posted a link to FReeper posts, and I ran into FReepers saying nice things about her. Yikes.
Oh, wait, you didn't say "abhor" her? Shit. Never mind.

Side note, I have most of the popular, ubiquitous Lounge denizens on ignore.
