My vote for worst movie of 2011: The Hangover Part II

Granted, I haven't seen that many movies from 2011. But I saw The Hangover Part II last night and it was truly execrable.

But it got a 35% on Rotten Tomatoes, and Larry Crowne, which I saw on Sunday night, got a 34%. I don't understand how that happens in a sane universe. Larry Crowne wasn't terrific by any stretch, and The Hangover II had a few funny moments (maybe 2) but I had no desire to turn Larry Crowne off mid-movie and I pretty much quit watching TH, Part II about 20 minutes in - just kept in on in the background while I was working on my websites. How is it even remotely funny that an aspiring surgeon and cellist gets his finger cut off and eaten by a monkey?

Anyway.

What's your pick for worst movie of 2011

It makes 'The Hangover 2' and 'Larry Crowne' look like 'Schindlers List' and 'Shawshank Redemption' in movie quality aspect.

BTW I actually enjoyed Larry Crowne.

and you're right, haven't seen any of the Twilight movies except bits of the first one, and it was painful. Sheesh.

My kids dragged me to see Breaking Dawn... not even Taylor Lautner with his shirt off could save it for me! One of the worst movies I have seen in a long time.

Of course first I would need kids and a will but that's just the little details

Everything - I had it figured out before the credits started.

But the worst movie of 2011 was easily Adam Sandler's "Jack & Jill" - an all time worst picture with a 3% Rottwn Tomatoes rating and it will be a Golden Razzy record holder, I'm predicting.

Anger Management still ranks as one of the all time worst movies I've ever seen (in a virtual tie with Batman & Robin). I am quite surprised Jack & Jill didn't make imdb's bottom 100.

8. What's weird is that I once thought he was going to turn into a serious actor

I kid you not.

I mean look at Tom Hank's career. Started off doing sitcom on TV. Did a bunch of Rom-Com/Slapstick Comedy movies when he switched from TV to Movies. And then at some point Hanks turned into a really serious actor with the back-to-back Oscars.

I loved Sandler in 'Punch-Drunk Love'. It was one of the first times that he was working with a big name actor that tends to get alot of Oscar nominations with each movie he puts out ("Boogie Nights", "There Will be Blood", "Magnolia&quot . But it seems after that movie instead of his roles getting better, they got way worse.

Actors who want to win awards work with big name directors who know how to make award winning actors. Sandler tends to use the same director over and over again for his movie and well the guy isn't known for quality, that's for sure.

Tea Leoni, Paz Vega and Chloris Leachman were in it - he was a married chef in L.A. - Vega plays his housekeeper and Leoni is just awful for a while.

Anyway. Not one of his godawful stupid movies. Eddie Murphy did the same thing - how many iterations of "The Klumps" were there? Have mercy.
