I hadn't seen this one.

I like how the bird appears to clean its beak between each "tasting."

It's amazing how "humane" animals can be toward each other...

If one doesn't another same species SO to pitch woo to, s/he will often bond to and court a human or another pet.

But she's just as likely to perch on the edge of their dishes and refuse to let them eat their own food.

Whenever she's in a cranky mood the dogs are terrified of her. Frankly, the dogs fear her scoldings more than they do ours. I think she can say "BAD DOG!" in the dog mother toungue.

She's the alpha animal in our house. She figured out all the rules of dog society twenty years ago.

She also knows how to get what she wants from people.

But parrots are terrible pets. They live forever, require lots of attention, and are destructive unless you keep them locked up. But you can't keep them locked up or they go insane. They always have to have something to do. Fortunately they'll do a twelve hour tropical day, which gives you four hours of peace after you tuck them away for the night.

Dogs are much easier. Let a dog nap with his head resting on your shoe as you write at the computer and he is content. A parrot will get bored and begin to take apart your clothing, your computer, your telephone, and whatever else is on or around your desk. Lock parrots up in their cages and they will make ungodly noises, especially when you are talking on the phone.

Our Pidge is in a cage when we want her to be but it's right in the middle of everything and I love her running commentary on what's going on. You're right aobut the phone, though. Worse than a toddler.
