http://www.thedailymash.co.uk/news/arts-entertainment/iron-maiden-fans-somehow-immune-to-self-consciousness-epidemic-2013042666810As thousands of Maiden fans rushed to buy the bands beer just because they like the band and they like beer, scientists marvelled at their integrity.
Professor Henry Brubaker of the Institute for Studies said: In an age where literally everything has to be arch, knowing, witty or retro, Iron Maiden fans somehow still dont give a fuck. They just like their thing for what it is, their hairy backs arent a statement and when they wear double denim with a bumbag its in no way ironic.
The rest of us will never achieve that level of enjoyment of anything, because our stupid aspirations have made us into dicks.

(14,738 posts)I have tried it. It's OK but nothing special.
I'm not really the biggest fan of musician / brewery collaborations to be honest. They sell because of the pulling power of the musicians rather then the quality of the beer, and "The Trooper" is a prime example of this. A beer that flew out of the cask because of the picture of Eddie The 'Ead on the pumpclip.
Mind you, "The Trooper" is a lot better then the beers Thornbridge Brewery did with Reverend & The Makers IMHO!

(12,132 posts)I once bought a bottle of Monty Python beer just because. It was pretty terrible lol. But I had a good laugh!
I'd love to get my hands on a Trooper tap for a keg. I'd build a bar just to use it. (but probably use a different keg of beer)
I plan to build a bar anyway but that would really top it off nicely.

(14,738 posts)It came out in bottles and as good old fashioned cask ale. One advantage of cask ale is that you have space for a nice sized pumpclip. Much better for Eddie then a teeny keg label!
