Ever have a cat "talk" in their sleep?

Charlotte, my calico, was asleep on the chair next to me, and dreaming, making little moan sounds and twitching.

Unfortunately, while I'm watching her do that, my chair squeaked and woke her up.

I actually was able to video both with my iPhone.

Weird other worldly sounds.

My wife does that once in a blue moon, no video though.

I assumed they were dreaming. Once in a while they acted nervous, like kitty nightmares.

Be interesting to know what cats and dogs dream about.

I had a beagle, a sheltie, a border collie and a hunting dog. They all chase things. The border collie had no interest in catching anything, just herding them. She had a rough time herding my mother's cats, they did not like it and attacked and cornered her and tried to take out her eyes. One of her most vicious cats was declawed (before being abandoned and adopted by Mom) and it did not matter to him. The beagle chased a toy car around the house (silly brother got it for Christmas), the sheltie chased anything smaller than her which usually meant bugs and the hunting dog always goes after rodents.

Would make little kitten crying noises while she was asleep even when she was a grown kitty with kittens of her own. I'd cuddle her and she'd atop crying and start purring while still asleep.

while she's sound asleep. Evidently, she had a very hard life while she was still a feral.

Maybe she was dreaming of chasing a tennis ball.

She'll be comfortably curled up next to me and I'll hear a short, quiet growl, followed by a little hiss, then another short, quiet growl. I just assume she's cussing someone in her sleep.

We've had kitties who growled and "roared", and then ran in their sleep. like they were lions chasing down a gazelle.
