24-year-old meow person! (114 in people years)

https://news.yahoo.com/world-s-oldest-cat--poppy-the-tortoiseshell-from-bournemouth-is--feline--her-age-163446848.html

Poppy the cat is certainly feline her age - after being recognised as the world’s oldest cat at 24 years.

The tortoiseshell puss from Bournemouth was born in February 1990, making her a ripe old 114 in human years.

She has lived through five British Prime Ministers but is now a frail old lady and spends most of her time indoors relaxing.

Poppy, who has been recognised by Guinness World Records, is one year younger than Misao Okawa of Japan, the oldest person in the world.

I ended up taking care of him when I was in my 20s. The hardest thing I ever had to do was to bring him to the vet to have him put down when I was 28 years old if was like putting down my little brothe. I still miss Grayson.

Ours is 23 and the cat version of sharp, cranky and spunky little old lady. If we're not awake at 5 to feed her she ensures it. Same with elevensies (at 11, natch) and supper (early bird special, demands start at 4:45.) the laser pointer has gotten old, but she likes smacking at my ipad. Also spoiled and pampered and every whim catered to.

She's healthier than expected, way too mentally sharp, and (most importantly) engaged with her thumb-monkeys.

Old Man Tabby lived until almost 18 (5/30/93-4/15/11) and old cats still have a lot of love to give.
