The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsI'm seriously contemplating having to defriend a friend on FB over last night's Game of Thrones.
She's actually a very nice person so it would be a shame.
But seriously, why would someone post "I'm going to miss (character who dies in the season finale)" an hour before the episode airs???(And I'm on the east coast, so you can't even blame the whole time difference thing.)
We get it people. You've read the books. I also plan on reading the books. Just as soon as the TV series ends once and for all. Until that point, I wish to remain as ignorant about future plot developments as possible.
In the meantime, please, please try to restrain yourselves. Or else I will demand a trial by combat on your ass.

(56,828 posts)if you're on Facebook an hour before a major episode of a TV show, you're risking spoilers - especially since the book has been out for 14 years now.

At least wait until after it airs....come on, am I right?
I've completely shunned any internet discussion boards on GOT for this very reason. After they leaked the big Season 1 shocker, that was it for me.
The great thing about the Red Wedding for me was that there was no spoilerage of that whatsoever.....I managed to sequester myself to the point where that took me for a total loop.
It does make me appreciate The Sopranos and The Wire a bit more, simply because there's no written source material for annoying fans to try to spoil. Or True Blood, which while not in quite the same league as Sopranos, Wire or GOT, has apparently deviated so completely from the books its based on that there's no risk of book fans giving things away.

(16,334 posts)a common courtesy would be a spoiler alert. I found myself not even getting online when I hadn't had time to watch a particular show. Seems like everybody's eager to spill the beans the second it happens!
