Please post something for sale in the DU Marketplace

Everyone likes my junk. I would like to sell some of it. I bet you too have some neat things that you could do without.

Now look around and find something to get rid of. Post a link at the group and watch it sell! The more people that post there, the better the shopping experience will be.

If you want to buy something, post a "WANTED" post. Just say what you want to buy - perhaps someone can hook you up.

I've decided to try to sell some Hillary buttons that I still have from her 2000 campaign. Perhaps I will be able to sell some!

The economy is shiite - lets try to get it rolling here in our little corner of the world.

7. Why bother, honestly?

Traffic in Marketplace on DU3 is a fraction of what it was on DU2, and even on DU2 it was a trickle.

I used to post fairly regularly there with minimal result. Can't see much point in posting in Marketplace now if it's only going to get me half a dozen views and no comments.

Am I correct in thinking that Marketplace posts no longer appear on the Latest page?

At least on DU2 you could count on incidental views from people who happen to be browsing all of the most recent posts. If viewers either have to opt in to have Marketplace show up at all or else have to seek out the group itself... Well, you might as well advertise on the undersides of carpets and and inside locked shipping crates.

It would indeed be a wonderful resource if it could be retooled to steer more attention toward those DU members who would like to make use of it.
