I lost 20 pounds last year and went down a full pants size. Heck, I needed new jeans anyhow!

I am just about the same height and weight as you are now. I'm not bony though.... just a little slimmer on the bottom! LOL

and I was almost starting to regret the loss of posterior padding I have incurred over the last year until I realized if I were still heavy I would have died in the 100 degree heat.

My ass was still sore yesterday but it is much better now.

I haven't paid attention to weight for a long while.

BMI friggin sucks as an indicator of health, and they really should take it out.

Saying that, congratulations. That is something hard to do.

10 or 11 years ago I set out to eat right. Mostly to get my cholesterol low and if I lost weight, so much the better.

Nothing major. No extra exercise devoted to the cause. Cut red meat from my diet, and all other animal fats except fish and chicken. No processed foods of any sort. No sweets, no commercially baked goods, including bread. No dairy. No between meal snacks of junk food. Concerted effort to eat "good fat", olive oil, nuts etc. Switching from beer to wine every day but once/week. Splurging once in a while meant I could have 3 steaks a year and the same for pizza.

Well it worked. Too good. Cholesterol plummeted to 160 total, with the "good" type being dominant. Weight was in free fall. 20 pounds or so as I went from 193-194 to 170-172. Felt much better but even after I leveled off my habits, weight still fell. So I get to reading the net and see unexplained weight loss could be caused by cancer. I panicked and began cheating on my new diet just to prove I could gain weight if I wanted. It eventually worked after the momentum of weight loss was broken, but then it took me another 6-8 months to work against the "getting heavier momentum" to lose weight again.

Stupid me. a little knowledge really is a dangerous thing.

Which is why I started eating like crazy and gained 20.
I still have the same looking physique since my waist size didn't budge, but yeah, that was scary.

i got down to 145 for a bit and that was entirely too small for me. 155-160 is about right for me. that said, i need to drop about 20 pounds.

I dropped to 104!! Scared my family! I do have an eating disorder. I got a stomach bug last week, and still have no appetite! I try to eat, however nothing tastes good. It's like my taste buds are dead.
