I don't think JetBlue should even bother scheduling flights anymore.

I think instead they ought to just tell their customers, "Just pick a time to show up at the airport and we'll leave three hours after that."

Oh well...at least I get to watch the entire MLB all star game on the flight.

And tell me that the next available flight is in two days at some ungodly early hour in the morning. And screw up my car rental reservation to boot.

go with it--maybe there is some cosmic reason for this.
something that will either effect you, someone else on the flight, or whatever. example: maybe by the time you arrive you'll have a different car rental agent and it will be someone you knew in high school that you were supposed to run into.

see what happens. be curious. and pay attention.

and are not to be messed with.

If I have to fly anywhere in the summer, I try to choose a flight before noon.

And even if you're in an area that doesn't get afternoon thunderstorms, the plane you are
flying could be coming from an area that is affected. Dominoes.

Did they tell you why the flight was delayed?

Our area did get thunderstorms, and so did our destination. But another JetBlue flight taking off around the same time from our area's other airport landed with little delay, and yet our flight was cancelled.

Last time with JetBlue it was that our plane was delayed in the Dominican Republic.

he comes home every 6 weeks or so, and gets held up at Newark with delays hour by hour. The irony is, if he knew at noon the flight would be delayed to 6, he could rent a car and drive home arriving at 4!

So, this last time, I was with him and checked the weather - dead clear across the entire US. I told hm our connecting flight home would be on time, no sweat. Instead - delayed hour by hour to 7 with several gate changes! Got to love those dominoes!

most of the delays are waiting for planes to take off from other airports to arrive at Newark. So any thunderstorms or snow storms east of the Mississippi throw a wrench into the system.

-although - waiting at Gates 111X and 115X makes me feel like a denizen of Steven King's world!

New York/Newark airports! It would really make a lot more sense than flying. I do think that we're all having more violent weather, so flying on schedule is getting harder every day.

all airlines can have issues. The one time Jet Blus had is sit for a couple of hours, they gave us vouchers for a future flight and we saved $75 each off a future flight, which was nice.

into LGA, JFK and Newark were delayed or canned. It happens sometimes. unless it is an equipment problem, I rarely feel anything bad toward the airline.

About 50% of my flights are delayed for hours, miss connections, or are outright cancelled. Needless to say, UA is the only carrier that serves my regional airport, so they have a captive audience.

I now return your hijacked thread to its discussion of JetBlue.

Flight out of Raleigh to Dulles delayed beyond making the connection to Frankfurt;
rebooked on later flight to Frankfurt;
Board Frankfurt flight and it is delayed for equipment problem beyond making
connection to Vienna;
Rebooked after arrival in Frankfurt for later flight to Vienna. Have to call
people renting apartment to us in Vienna from Frankfurt--they're wondering where
we've been because no/show/no call for two hours past when we were supposed to
be meeting them at the apartment. (can't call in the air!) We finally show up
at the apartment 5 hours later than we told them we'd be there.

The only upside to the whole mess was that our luggage--rerouted twice--DID show
up with us when we finally got to Vienna.

Like the time the plane didn't even arrive in San Jose until after midnight (scheduled 9:30 or 10).

Alas, it is the only way to get from here to NYC (Mom and Republican Stepdad) without changing planes somewhere out in Tornado Alley.
