Sandler sets Razzie record: 11 worst-movie noms

SANTA MONICA, Calif.—When Adam Sandler's bad, he's really bad, according to voters for the Razzies, an Academy Awards spoof that singles out the worst movies of the year.

Sandler received a record 11 nominations Saturday for the Razzies as star, producer or writer on three 2011 movies -- "Jack and Jill," "Just Go with It" and "Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star."

Sandler's nominations include worst actor for both "Jack and Jill" and "Just Go with It" -- and worst actress for "Jack and Jill," in which he plays a family man and his own twin sister.

Sandler also had two nominations as worst screen couple opposite Jennifer Aniston or Brooklyn Decker in "Just Go with It" and opposite Katie Holmes, Al Pacino or himself in "Jack and Jill."

As a producer, Sandler was credited with worst-picture and worst prequel, remake, rip-off or sequel nominations for both "Bucky Larson" and "Jack and Jill." He also shared in worst-screenplay nominations as a writer on both movies, and a worst-ensemble nomination for "Jack and Jill."

2. His movies are getting worse

Some of the ones in the 90's and The Longest Yard were at-least watchable to me. I thought "Just Go with It" had a great set-up for a comedy and they just blew it.

Amazing he has so many leading roles and he has his own production company.

If you had a production company, would YOU produce an Adam Sandler movie?

I rest my case.

As horrible as his two 2011 movies were, they grossed:

Just Go With It - $214 Million worldwide on an $80 Million budget

Jack and Jill - $142 Million worldwide on a $79 Million budget

That's the funny thing about Sandler. No matter how big the movie is, it's always garaunteed to make a sh*tload of money.

11. His films in the 90s were repetitive, but watchable if you forgot about that.

Now they're repetitive and just bad.

But that is what money will do to you. There is a short window for most comic actors. One day you're hot, the next day your not.

Surprised me with that role. I thought Anchorman was a funny movie, especially the scene where all the news teams meet in an alley for an over-the-top violent confrontation. Ferrell was a little too much of Ferrell though, a lot of his movies are unwatchable but a few of them are quite good, IMO of course.

Ferrell has had some good to okay movies- Ricky Bobby is one of the funniest movies I have ever seen.

Will Ferrell has made some amazing comedies like Old School, Anchorman, Talladega Nights, and The Other Guys.

But for every one of those he does, he does like 10 Blades Of Glory or Semi-Pro.

Adam Sandler, on the other hand, hasn't done anything worth watching since Happy Gilmore.
