A husband and wife in Brazil have discovered that they are actually brother and sister.

The shocking story emerged after Adriana and Leandro, who have a six-year-old daughter together, went looking for the mothers who abandoned them as babies — only to realize they were searching for the same woman.

Until recently, both 39-year-old Adriana and 37-year-old Leandro thought that it was just a coincidence their respective birth moms were known as “Maria.”

Adriana was left at the age of one and raised by her father.
