Almost all the Paint Nights that I have looked up refer to wine, but not beer. What reason could there be for this association? Is it because wine opens up the creative centers of the brain?

(70,114 posts)not sure what a paint night is, exactly, but wine is the thing for art.
tho, here in chi, goose island did their part any chance they got. donated a lot of beer back in the good old days.
and the chicago imagists actually flourished on something called hyde park punch, which was basically i giant margarita in a punch bowl w some extra booze.

(46,727 posts)that contracts with individual drinking establishments and promotes a night where they set up a two hour painting class at a set time and date. The company provides all the supplies and the teacher and you have to register ahead of time because the classes get closed out quickly. It's really for everybody. Not exactly something that would attract art aficionados.
It also goes by the name of wine and sips; wine and canvas; wine and painting. Hence the question, why are Paint Nights associated with wine?

(46,727 posts)The same company could have various venues in one month. On Friday they could hold a class at a wine store in a Mall and the next day they could be located at a Sports bar. The following weekend they could have yet another class at a restaurant.
The calendars generally show the time, place and the painting that will be taught that night.
Here's an example:

I think an asshole at a competing bar ratted him out to cops, because nudity + booze was technically illegal. Oh well.

(12,132 posts)we went to one off Kirkman near Conroy. They had both wine and beer. It was fun - I had beer.
They got one in Altamonte too: https://www.paintingwithatwist.com/locations/

(14,738 posts)....then I'm sure that some UK craft breweries such as Brewdog and Thornbridge will try and use it as a chance to promote their beer.

(16,191 posts)Painting takes time. Wine is generally sipped and enjoyed slowly. Beer is typically gulped or guzzled and enjoyed quickly. The slow enjoyment of wine pairs well with the slow pace of painting.
Besides: Wine > Beer
