It's really difficult to pick just one, but I have to say "Liquid Sky" takes the cake. Aliens killing people when they have orgasms. My friend introduced me to it in high school, and we watched it many times, shall we say how you would watch "The Wall."

(12,272 posts)Even after catching on, it was very twisted. Then there is a Will Ferrell film where he goes back in time or to the center of the earth and meets some very weird creatures, like something out of David Ickes' conspiracy theories.

(47,675 posts)It's only one of two films that I consider to be realistic depictions of war in the trenches, the other being "Good Morning Viet Nam".

(1,267 posts)Just like American Werewolf in London is THE funniest movie EVAH if viewed after a little herbal remedy.
That scene where zombie Jack is talking to David in (I think?) the church, and a chunk of his shredded face is hanging off his chin, flapping as he talks -- comedy GENIUS!

The film consists entirely of frames that are either all black or all white. This produces a strobe effect. By the end of the film you'll be hallucinating some pretty wild stuff.

It's about a disgusting restauarant owner and his gross and vulgar ways. The beating and feeding of dog feces to the chef.
Rotting and putrid meat in the trucks outside the restaurant. Cannibalism is involved
It is a truly disturbing, artistic and crazy movie. It's just so difficult to describe. If you want something off the wall that will make you cringe and gag...see it
The score is haunting and very good
sharp_stick
(14,400 posts)If you liked it you will probably enjoy most of Peter Greenaway's work. I particularly liked "Prospero's Books" and "A Zed and Two Naughts"
Some of his later stuff is really experimental but the score's for many if not all of his films like The Cook the Thief his Wife and her Lover are done by Michael Nyman and they are all haunting and dramatic.

(22,057 posts)The Allied bombardment of Normandy sends seven forced laborers into a concrete bunker filled with food, wine and other necessities. They're overjoyed until they realize they're trapped. As time passes, fear gives way to boredom and then despondency when they realize no one knows they're missing. Based on a gripping true story, this movie stars Charles Aznavour and Peter Sellers in a rare dramatic role. Clive Rees directs.
