My daughter got me hooked and I have tons of stuff at my disposal through the Crunchy Roll app on my Roku.
I've been checking out different types and right now I'm watching Kill La Kill. I watched the entirety of Attack on Titan and think it's my favorite so far. I tend to like the supernatural with lots of action/fighting. Especially when the ladies are doing the ass kicking! Prefer subtitles too instead of dubbed.

(8,217 posts)The ones I am currently following are:
Mahouka Koukou no Rettousei = "Irregular in Magic High School" - I like it due to how the author is really technical in regards to the nature of magic.
Sword Art Online = I am still reading the light novels. I've been hooked on this one for years. The Light Novel came out before World of Warcraft blew up. It is currently in the 2nd season right now. You'd probably have fun with the 1st Season which is complete, and is also in Netflix.

Recommendations from years past:
Fate/Stay Night - Beautiful story about Magicians who create contracts with Noble Spirits given seven different classes. The original version of it was a Type Moon erotic choose your own adventure novel game (which I played). The anime is very toned down in regards to that, but it really is a well done story.
Remember that test thing that had "I am the bone of my sword"? It takes it from that.
Check out Fate Zero also, which is a prequel to Fate Stay night. I recommend watching the whole of Fate/Stay before going to this one, so it hits you even more.
Good luck!
On Edit-
I currently read a bunch of Light Novels, because they are free online and I devour books.
Something new I found is:
"Tate no Yuusha Nariagari" which is also called "The Rise of the Shield Hero". It is one of those stories that makes you want to shout "WTF is wrong with all of you?"

(35,015 posts)I've watched some of the first season of Sword Art Online and need to finish. Fate/Stay Night and Fate Zero sound good - I will definitely check them out.
Oh, and you might actually like Claymore.
It followed the manga very closely until near the end.
The actual Manga series will be ending very soon. I can't wait.
I've been following that story a little over six years ago, when I found out about it since the Anime started being fansubbed during that time.
Claymore is about women who fight monsters, however since the way they are enhanced is by having a part of a monster inside their bodies, they also have the chance of overusing their power, which will "Awaken" them, to become one of the monsters they have to fight. The reason it has to be women, is that they have more control, when they tried to do the same thing to men, they go wild much faster, and have to be killed.
