I have a black eye because I interrupted a man beating a child

I wish I could say I got the better of him, but honesty is a bitch. He clocked me twice when I was guarding the outside (my own fault). But the kid got away. Sometimes losing is winning, you know?

work. Ice is good, but it melts too quickly because when you get struck the area tends to give off a lot of heat.

To keep the swelling down you apply anything that retains heat without cooling too quickly.

I saw a guy beating up a woman.
I stopped him, mostly by pinning him down and knocking him out.

The girl I "saved", clocked me though, and I was stunned for a long while.

Pretty much taught me, never to get in between an altercation unless I hear the words "Help".

Glad you're here! Amazing story from Recursion, isn't it! You take me back to when our kids were in karate class. They all still got bumps and bruises but they were all thoroughly padded, too, fortunately.

While waiting for my bus back to the ship I had all the usual street merchants trying to sell me stuff. One thing that interested me was a blanket, but while I was looking at it I also had a couple of girls (maybe 8 or 9 years old) begging. The guy who was selling it hauls off and backhands the taller of the two, knocking her to the ground. I didn't hesitate at all. I threw the blanket over his head and gave him 3 quick jabs to the middle of his face. The guys I was with pulled me off him and hustled me onto the bus, but I could tell I'd done some damage. It was the only time as an adult that I've ever thrown a punch at someone in anger.

Others should have jumped in and beat the hell out of the guy. There is nothing worse to me than an adult abusing a child. I'm not sure I could contain myself and I'm 6'2" and weigh 225 pounds. The damage I would do to someone if I encountered that.

You did the right thing.

count the people they save from suffering and not the ones they harmed.

You were on the right side, despite getting injured. Put some ice on it.
