I was really looking forward to it too.
Leo DiCaprio is very miscast, IMO.
And the old man makeup he wears is atrocious! Very distracting.
All in all, the movie just seems to be leaving sooo much out...

Although J. Edgar's life was more complex and diverse than portrayed in the movie, the movie was still good. His life is one that hasn't been over-explored on screen like other famous people. And yes, I thought Leonardo did a very good job -- better than I expected.

American history. I liked it. Terribly sad though the lives repressed homosexuals felt they had to live.

Leo was totally miscast, the makeup to show him aging was laughably amateurish. The story line was all over the place, and worst of all it wasn't very interesting.

Leonardo Dicaprio was the best they could cast, and aged with the right makeup to perfection. His friend, not so much. Looked like a zombie as an old man but it didn't distract much.

I do hope he gets the lead role in the Sinatra film.
