A Holly Jolly September morning at Lowes

Went to Lowes this morning for some minor parts for the garden. They were in the process of clearing out the garden/nursery section and had artificial trees up and decorations everywhere. Oh, and some Halloween as well, so it's all good.

Criminy, people..

Bad enough they "push" seasonal stuff early, but it's just as bad when they "pull" as well: Not stocking certain items due to seasonal pull-downs. Grilling accessories sharply pared as early as late August. Fireplace accessories gone by late Feb.

Capitalism "by the numbers" sucks.

right alongside the pumpkins.

I think they may as well just leave the crap up year-round.

where I went to visit my Dad. I kid you not. Soon after that, I started seeing it at Costco.

Criminy is right!

edit: By decorations up, I meant for sale in a store in the mall by where he lives, not up on a personal residence. I've never seen Xmas decorations for sale quite that early.

for a roll of insulation and some stuff the kid needed for her science fair project ( ) and mentioned that they were doing the same thing. Of course, our local Safeway has had bags of Halloween candy on display since just before Labor Day. It's really hard to get into the Halloween spirit when you are sweating like a stevadore.
