Actually, the travel pack described might just be handy to have laying around for other things as well.

Though it's the zombies that you have to be worried about!

If you are going for guns then you should be armed with "Real" zombie ammo!

Personally I would go for a good set of blades - they don't run out of ammo but you do have to get closer to the uglies.
People usually think "Katana!"
I personally like my Damascus Viking blade:

along with a set of axes including:

A good spear would also be good (not for throwing)
(I like this one for the artistic quality)

...when they were at the prison, why they didn't have some .22 rifles?

They could've sat out there all day and night with a Ruger 10-22 and a brick of dirt-cheap, plentiful .22LR ammo and popped walkers in the head until the sun came up.

I'd never seen an episode before but my younger brother loved it and strongly recommended it to me. Bored with nothing to watch, I gave it a shot, was hooked from the first episode (didn't know Frank Darabont was behind it) and powered through the first 4 seasons in about 3 weeks. Season 5 won't be on Netflix until September. I couldn't wait and found some site online to watch from my laptop. I'm all caught up now.

My absolute favorite show!!!

Now how do I get my timid, violence-averse wife to watch it? A few scenes of zombies getting their heads cut in two and she said, "no thanks!" I keep trying to tell her it's actually a drama (with zombies) but she's not buying it.

My 5-year old son is terrified of it but my 3-year old boy loves it. "Can I watch zombie show with you daddy?" I say, "sure" and let him watch a few scenes until my wife comes running into the room hollering at my youngest to go to bed and jumping my ass for letting him watch zombies get their heads split open.
