Face cleanser is Clinique or when I'm cheap Clean and Clear. For shampoo I use Matrix or Redken....I have to take care of my natural blonde, ya know.

Since my husband travels quite a bit for his job, we do have a stash of those hotel bar soaps and shampoos, as a last resort.

It would certainly help exfoliate, but there are some places on your body you really don't want to do that. I hope you rinsed real well. I buy soap in big packages, usually from Costco. I also make soap, but haven't lately. Homemade soap is the best.

Every two days, we all coated in cheap olive oil and slept on towels. The next morning we all had to shower and dishwashing liquid was the ONLY thing that would cut through it. Our hair looked great, but it took three weeks of going through that to solve the problem. Nasty little buggers. The expensive stuff from the drug store didn't do shit about it.

Funny how simple things often prove to be the best.

My wife's school has a kid with hundreds of nits and lots of active lice. Her parents keep wanting to drop her off and keep being shown to the door. Yes, they are hard to get rid of, but at LEAST fucking TRY! On the plus side, head lice don't go for the pubes and aren't interested in cats and dogs. We know how to deal with them if need be, but I'm getting a little pissed at this girl's parents.

A lot of the parents are good people, but they just seem clueless. It makes you wonder how the kids made it past the first week after birth. By the way, I'm trying to drum up support in the Parenting group. I'm the only host there. http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=forum&id=1160

I am just feeling for the kid because she is the one being turned away. I hope she understands that it isn't her, it is the lice. When I was young, I would try to take care of things myself because my parents were busy. Though that might be dangerous in this case.

The group needs some TLC. With all the parents on DU, I'm shocked that it isn't one of the more popular. Most of that stuff ends up in GD or The Lounge - don't people know it exists? Enough of my rant. Thanks for subscribing.

Only used once. I can also send you an only-used-once bottle of kitty conditioner. Apparently, my cats don't want to smell like French whores. Yes, it really is that bad, but you might enjoy it. Especially if you're really sick of people getting too close to you.

I'd use sugar, kosher salt or even some baking soda. Good exfoliators. For a moisturizer, add a little bit of olive oil

You can actually shower WITHOUT SOAP.
I know!
I'VE DONE IT!

Unless I'm doing sweaty or dirty work, I use soap about every 3rd or 4th shower.
A nice hot shower refreshes you and cleanses your pits and 'naughty bits' just fine.

Doesn't strip natural oils from your skin and hair.
And you just smell...neutral.

Add deodorant and after-shave/fragrance as desired.
Trust me.
It works just fine.
And look at all the money you'll save on soap.

Plus, your sewer/septic system will thank you.

Otherwise, I sometimes like to use Dr. Bronner's Peppermint soap. Refreshing!

they made bar soap.

Does it last a long time?

Sometimes I unwrap bar soap and let it sit around perfuming the air (or my dresser drawers) for a few months or even a year. Then when I go to use it, it doesn't get all mushy. Of course, the aroma disappears by then, but hey...it's soap and it cleans.

Severe xeroderma from hypoparathyroidism. Hibiclens on smelly bits; water on the rest; lauryl/laureth-free shampoo on the hair; some French cleanser for the face. If I'm low on Hibiclens, I have other non-soap cleaners on hand.

Do you remember Grandma's LyeSoap?
Good for everything, everything in the home
And the secret was in the scrubbin'
It wouldn't suds; It wouldn't foam.

Mrs. O'Mally, Down in the valley
Suffered from ulcers, I understand
She swallowed a cake, of Grandma's LyeSoap
Now she's got the cleanest ulcers in the land!

Little Herman and Brother Thurman
Had an aversion to washing their ears
Grandma scrubbed them with the LyeSoap
And they haven't heard a word in years.
