(25,537 posts)1. The moon is rising, peeking through ragged clouds.
A few bats fly around looking for breakfast, the city is lit up for the evening and sparkling in the west. When there's a full moon and I ask my husband if he noticed it on his way home from work, he always answers: "No, I didn't. I want to see the full moon! Turn around and bend over." Evidently this joke never gets old for him.

I've loved that piece my entire life and it will live forever. Another piece by a contemporary of Debussy is Autumn by French female composer Cecile Chaminade. Through the piece, I can almost see the melancholic images of autumn, like haystacks, flocking birds, and downpours. Chaminade's Autumn is one of my all-time favs, along with Debussy's Claire de Lune.
