Your favourite tv series and Why? M*A*S*H, then Sex and the City, Justified, Weeds, The Wire.

MASH - I adored Hawkeye. I wanted to be a doctor just like him.
Sex & the City - I loved the girltalk and the clothes
Justified - the dialogue is stellar, Tim Oliphant
Weeds - The drama cause by a naive woman in a dangerous world
The Wire - the detail, drama and how the good guys often won
Days & Nights of Molly Dodd - one woman's growth through single life

More recently, Six Feet Under, Sopranos, Mad Men, In Treatment and Boardwalk Empire.

Common thread running through all of them - good characters, acting, plot - and creativity.

Top quality writing and acting, range of emotions, topics, never hit a dull spot for 5 seasons.

after growing up in the Father Knows Best era, these two shows were refreshing.
Oh, and Twilight Zone.

Loved Mike Farrell as BJ. Love to hate Frank Burns. Met Larry Linville about 35 years ago at our airport. Shook hands, said hello for about a minute.

I am a sci-fi nut so there it that. It was the first show to really use computer generated graphics and I love that kinda stuff.

Mostly I love the epic nature of the story. For 5 seasons each episode played into the greater story line while also standing alone as all episodes must.

I think it was brilliantly done.

WKRP in Cincinnatti, Emergency

There are a lot of other shows I like until they "jump the shark."

Star Trek - First two seasons great; after that, not so much
Mad About You - See "Star Trek." They lost me at the "I kissed Doug Birkus" fiasco.
M*A*S*H - I like up through the first season with Charles, then it gets really stale
ER
- Once Marke Greene dies, I kinda lose interest.
Ice Road Truckers - In Canada - Great; In Alaska - Good; In Tibet, not so much.
Roseanne - The last season is horrid (even given it's ultimately a dream sequence)
