I am kind of teeny-tiny. Just 5 feet tall and 105 pounds. Wear a size 5 shoe. Where do my fellow small duers shop for clothes and shoes? Finding it increasingly hard to find clothes and especially footwear without going on line.

(207 posts)It's been years since I've shopped in a department store, but do they still have Juniors departments?
I have the opposite problem, and LLBean is frustrating since they think all women are petite, even their Tall clothes are cut for short torsos, so you might try there.

I have wide feet, and end up going on-line. My girls have long feet and have problems finding shoes in their size.

(6,336 posts)I have a size 7.5-8 foot (but wide) and have discovered that a kid's size 6 fits me (not all stores carry them). Kids shoes tend to run wider than adults do. (Target carries a kids's 6).
Obviously the styles may differ but most of the time I either wear ballet flats or athletic shoes, which the kid's don't vary much from the adults. I also don't mind younger, funkier styles (my style has never been conservative). There are some good basic ballet flats available in kid's sizes that look like adult shoes. I've often bought athletic shoes in the boy's department (a little cheaper). The style of say Nikes is not different from (older) kids to adults (obviously I'm not shopping in the little kid section with things like velcro, etc).
Can't help you with clothes as I'm 5'6.
ETA as much as I like the younger, funky style, I won't go all out in kids shoes. You won't see me buying shoes with the girls from Frozen on it for example. But witha pair of plain black ballet flats, you can't tell if they were kids or adults.

(20,277 posts)they had women's shoes in size 5. Try one of those on line shoe places also - Zappos, DSW, Shoedazzle.
Try Target for clothes. You have to get there just as they put out the new season's stuff.

(4,299 posts)I gave up trying to find size 4 panties. One of the kid's sizes has the same bum room but the thigh room is too small. Similar problem with bras, geez I need a small one, not a trainer.

(35,015 posts)I know their clothes fit me and they're stylish. Overall, there is definitely more of a selection online than in retails stores, I've always had a tough time with stores and you're teenier than me.

IMHO , I don't think chicos is good for petite women
The styles also are made for older women who don't have much of a waistline anymore

(30,745 posts)and I weigh more now that I am older. I am about 115. I shop online most of the time. The juniors department is a good idea. The only problem with some of that is that I have boobs. Some tops can be too tight. They don't think small women have boobs. We do.

(4,916 posts)And a small waist. The problem with junior clothing, other than it being a little young and not professional (I j 53) is the low rise and they are long. There is a difference between small sizes and petites. I even have to shorten petite pants. And I haven't started to shrink yet!!!
