Da Nang, Vietnam, is TripAdvisor's top emerging destination for 2014

Da Nang, Vietnam, and Wildwood, N.J., lead the pack of TripAdvisor's more than 50 "destinations on the rise" in 2014.

The website's Traveler's Choice Awards in this category reflect "unheralded destinations across the globe that are receiving rave reviews from travelers worldwide," chief marketing officer Barbara Messing said in a statement released Tuesday.

I sincerely hope that it is a beautiful city to visit, but I wouldn't be surprised if people were going there for other reasons.

I would imagine that at least some of the interest in the city as a tourist is connected to that in some way.

I was just visiting there a few summers ago. If you ever get over that way, stop and look. Not to mention Cape May New Jersey, which is beautiful.

It ain't Newark.

I'm sure cruise ships will be lining up soon.

Gorgeous beaches, jungles, caves, and many undiscovered species. Affordable, friendly, low crime rates.
Not to mention some of the best food in the world.

Your #1 fear there is getting killed in traffic. And a few mosquito-borne viruses.
