For me, it's American Idol. I took one look this year, and it confirmed why I no longer watch. The judges are now 100% cheerleader, and my favorites would be sure to be voted off too early again. Not that there's a lack of any talent, but I've been watching The Voice instead. They have 2 contestants that I know from before: Charlotte Sometimes and Juliet Simms.

(102,283 posts)DItto with Dancing with the stars... I occasionally would watch if there was someone taking part that I liked, but no one has made me want to watch regularly.
I just really don't like reality shows.
I watched the original CSI regularly the first few years, pretty much dropped it after William Peterson left and have just recently started watching a bit since Ted Danson joined. I don't really watch that much tv, so I'm pretty picky. "Justified" is a don't miss for me and I have to admit to trying to find a way to catch Dexter, the Walking Dead, Game of Thrones and Mad Men. Pretty much the rest is just fare for when I'm really bored--especially if I can stream it online.

(95,337 posts)I don't think I've watched "The Simpsons" since like season 5 or 6 and they're on what, like Season 82 now? I mean it's a great show, just lost interested.
Same thing with Survivor. I think I gave it up until the first All-Stars then I was done with it.

(65,174 posts)It's not that I no longer like it - I just don't take the time anymore. I'm not much of a TV person except for sports.
Once Paula Abdul left, I lost a bit of interest but still watched it.
After Simon left, I lost even more interest but still watched it although I wasn't as involved as I was in previous years.
This year....nah. I don't care anymore.
Just wasn't the same anymore without Simon. He was an arrogant pain in the ass, but I often agreed with his assessments of the contestants. Only rarely disagreed with him.
But anyway, when the big stars walk, it's because they know the show has outlived itself. Will be surprised if it lasts another two years.

(13,447 posts)Also stopped watching American Idol after the Daughtry season.
Caught every episode of the first season of survivor. then I watched the first episode of season 2 and realized it was made up of EXACTLY the same characters as the first season and never saw another episode.

(12,153 posts)I liked it a lot at first, but all of a sudden I knew I'd had enough. I think I began to lost interest when Izzy got depressed and a whole show was about her lying around at home. Boring.
the Michael Richards thing made it a lot less funny.

(3,702 posts)I don't like change - lol
I usually like things the first season or 2, then whenever things get shook up (usually for ratings) I get bored.
But I do like the Voice!

(7,875 posts)For some reason I took perverse pleasure in watching the freaks melt down after being told they couldn't sing.
I had cable for a little while, but when the promotional offer ended I had it turned off. Since then I haven't watched much TV. Since the switch to digital your reception has to be very good or it's too infuriating to watch.
glee fan
(1 post)there are lots of funny auditions shows, one i am looking for and it seems a lot of other people is whether glee is going to be running auditions, or do they not use that kind of process to "choose" there cast.
from what i can tell so far it looks like there probably is not going to ever be auditions for shows like glee, because they select who gets on the show, like elite?, you cannot audition for glee according to this link, is that true? http://open-auditions.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/glee-auditions-2012-and-2013-fox-can.html
seems for glee it is people get selected out of other shows and acting schools, so that is probably a no go for people if they wanted to audition to glee, best look at other shows to audition to, like the singing talent shows like american idol or x factor i guess, and there is the "got talent franchises as well" if people are looking for other options, to try and audition.
thing is with some of these shows like AI it is like some people are let on so that they can be made fun of, oh well, that is holly-wood for you!.

(14,275 posts)I totally lost interest by the third episode this year. It was on a slide after Jim and Pam got married, but now it feels unwatchable to me.

Enough already!

(882 posts)I tried to watch House this season but couldn't get into it. I stopped watching CSI because they moved it to Wednesday nights at 10 p.m. I stopped watching CSI Miami when they moved it 10 p.m. on Sundays. I lost interest in Survivor after the second all-star season. I really didn't want to see some of those people again, especially Russell.

This is its last season. Dying with whimper, not a bang.
Weird's fine; wtf, no so much.
For example, big climatic scene, the Observer tells Olivia that in all possible time lines, she is going to die. Well duh, isn't everybody?
