http://www.sfgate.com/crime/article/San-Francisco-burglar-grabs-pit-bull-owner-6010316.phpWhen David Baker noticed his dog was missing Saturday afternoon, he figured she had run away. But after checking downstairs at his house off Brannan Street in the South of Market area, he realized something more sinister was going on.
Baker, a 22-year-old student, ran down the street looking for Mochi, a 2-year-old pit bull. Unable to locate the missing pooch, he returned home, only to find some of his belongings were missing. It was then he realized that Mochi hadnt run away, but had been stolen....
Honestly, Its hard to even put into words, he said. Im heartbroken, but I dont have time to sit and cry about it. This is obviously time-sensitive, so Im just trying to spread the word.
Bakers efforts to spread the word have been successful, so far, with pictures of Mochi spreading over Twitter and Instagram. Billy Joe Armstrong, the front man for Green Day, shared a photo of the missing dog with his 433,000 Instagram followers Monday afternoon.

Good lookin young lady there. I have an elderly blue-nosed pitty (Molly), with a white chest and four white paws. When folks ask what breed she is I call her my blue-nosed 'whiner'. She is currently at my feet whining, (her way of letting me know that it is closing in on feeding time). I can not imagine getting my Molly stolen, we are family. Count me in, I'll be keeping an eye out for this stolen pet. knr

for someone that does this. Stories like this make me wish that Hell was real so that we could all laugh at them as they burn for eternity.

A 2-year-old pit bull stolen from her San Francisco owner has been recovered, and the burglar who made off with the dog is behind bars, officials said Tuesday....
Pictures of Mochi on Twitter and Instagram spread like wildfire. Even Green Day lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong posted a picture of the dog on Monday afternoon.
Then, on Monday evening, police responded to Sixth and Stevenson Streets after an individual reported a possible sighting of Mochi. Officers went to the 300 block of Eddy Street where the witness had followed the suspect and found Mochi with a woman.
Officers arrested Melissa Perna, 31, on suspicion of burglary, possession of stolen property, two drug charges and three traffic warrants, said Officer Grace Gatpandan, a police spokeswoman.
