omg I hate mercury retrograde.

I just went out to get something from the garage and discovered the overhead light in my car was on.

The thing is, thinking about it, the shopping I did this afternoon, I was no where near that light. I had one bag of groceries just behind the driver's seat and my purse in the passenger seat.

Otoh, yesterday's shopping for various and sundry items, I think I was crawling around my car a bit. I can't remember the details now, but I had 50 pound bag of dog food plus a sled in the back. I'm wondering now if I hit the switch putting them in or getting them out of the back and it was on overnight.

That would explain the weakness starting it today, in which case being left on for another 2 hours shouldn't be a big deal compared to being on for over 24 hours. In which case I should be ok for tomorrow. time will tell, but I really cannot effing believe this.

is wrong with me these days? other than frozen brain/frozen body exhaustion...

1. The overhead light on your car isn't much of a concern,

if you're worried about the battery. The amperage draw isn't much at all. I'd look, rather, at the age of the battery or the voltage coming out of the alternator. Maybe call your shop and ask them about it

after I rested and ate, I remembered the passenger door rattled wierdly on my way home this afternoon. and then I remembered that I tried to open it and it was frozen shut at the store yesterday.

So I just checked a few minutes ago -- it was never completely shut, so the light was on for over 24 hours. and we had sub-zero temps which weaken batteries. then I got stuck in the snow yesterday coming home and stalled out and had to restart a zillion times getting unstuck.

and then when I tried to start it this afternoon, I panicked and flooded it. the car is fine. I couldn't start it after a series of mishaps including the light on for nearly 30 hours. but light on for 2 hours doesn't worry me.

BUT I have a new mercury retrograde problem and this one has me in a near panic. I just tried to register at my HP pension site to get my account information to put into my IRA application. It wouldn't accept my email address, which it said was "already taken." So then I tried to log in using my logon information at the financial company, which it didn't accept (not really a surprise). Then I tried selecting "forgot my us ername" so I could start fresh -- and it didn't recognize my email. the same email that is says is "already taken."

remembering that HP is host to the identity theft ring that stole my identity, now I am scared. How can it think my email is already taken, and yet not let me register...

4. I hope you're able to call someone about the IRA issue tomorrow.

Maybe they'll be able to reset it for you, and you can get into it anew.

I know it's hard not to worry, especially on things like this, but do try anyway. I don't know if you've seen this site I've posted a few times around here, but there are truly some nice and relaxing sounds in it that might help you right now.

Good luck with it all!

which I never use. It let me register that way.

I just got off the phone with the rep. turns out the rep I talked to on 1/21 (the 1st day of merc retro, btw) filled in my profile with my email, which she should not have done.

the rep I was speaking with said she'd let them know that they aren't supposed to do that. this rep was a million times better than the 2 I'd spoken with before. she gave me first and last name, spoke clearly, etc.

I explained to her about the identity theft ring, and how frightening it was to get a message that my "email was taken." I got into the entire story of it -- she had no idea and was horrified, especially that I'd called HP hr, per instructions from the FTC, some 20 times and never got a response. she put in a feedback that goes to upper management at fidelity and HP. It got some more of it off my shoulders...

this has got to be my worst mercury retro evah! I don't usually even notice them...

9. That's great that you finally got a good rep working with you!

And that you were able to inform her of the things going on with their own problems. I hope her feedback does get some changes made to how the other reps fill in info and so forth

As I don't follow the stuff to do with mercury retrograde, I rarely ever know its happening until someone online mentions it, and it's mostly over. So, I then never have any stories to tell relating to it as I hadn't paid close enough attention

3. just another wierd panic thing. the pension site let me register using my other email

the one I never use. I prefer using one email all the time. I remember it, I can get into it easily, etc.

the one I never use is with my cable ISP. I never go there. It took me 3 tries just now to log into it because I keep wanting to type the 1st initial capital, and it should be l.c.

at least I was able to register. the site didn't provide any more information than the mailer. I thought I'd find something like, you know, a contract or account #. very frustrating...

Hope things work out for you, your car, and your pension etc.

On a maybe similar note, 'I hate mercury retrograde,' my older daughter rudely estranges herself from me, on a fairly regular basis; happened yesterday, after some months of 'harmony.' I may keep a record of these occasions in the future, and check whether previous ones have been during merc retro. This one, anyway, may save me from traveling to see her, from MD to NJ, in a couple of weeks, which might be a good thing.
