the young girl found her baby dead and didn't report it for some couple of hours...I am thinking, shock and grieving...
it was just a blurb but, made me wonder.
they brought forth charges.
feel for her...insult to injury kind of thing.

(9,465 posts)When my mother died at home. But then she was already known to be dying, and hospice told us we could keep the body for three days before we were legally required to report her death.
It might be quite a bit different in cases of unexpected death. The coroner would need the body to be fairly fresh to determine manner and cause of death. I also expect this can vary from state to state.
