just spent an hour-plus trying to scrape snow off the barn roof

or at least as much of it as I can reach.

I suddenly noticed that the snow is piled to within a few inches of the 4 1/2 foot fence

I'm going to leave the horses out Saturday night. They were predicting some rain for Saturday, yesterday. Today they've changed it to snow, but the predictions for every storm up until today's have gone back and forth with amounts based on exact path each storm takes. So I think it's best to not take chances. The roof so far is holding up fine, and it's pretty well built. But the volume of snow up there is outrageous, and rain on that could spell disaster. Best to leave them an escape route
