How is their coverage? Any customer service issues?

(20,886 posts)I don't use the for mobile (I think the carrier is Sprint), bt I do use them for long distance with no trouble whatsoever.
I lost my phone this morning. Verizon (yeah, I know) wants $600 for another phone and my contract is up in July. They don't prorate so they're going to lose a customer. I don't think they care and frankly, I'd feel better about bagging them anyway.

(7,769 posts)So your coverage would be based on Sprint's footprint.
They've got a good range of phones. If I ever leave TMO, I'd give them a shot.
Don't have any info on their customer service.

(2,749 posts)As I wrote above, I lost my phone this morning. I feel pretty stupid about it but hey, life happens. Maybe this will motivate me to do something I've been wanting to do but out of convenience didn't.

(54,256 posts)We don't text and only use cellphones for voice comm when we're away from the home landline.
2 flip phones, 200 minutes/mo. (I think) for $35.
We never go over 200.
No extended chats about this & that.
Just necessary communications.
I can live with that.
I'm a geezer.
Work blocks all email accounts and most blogs so we can't check during the day. I need to keep in touch with my peeps.

(54,256 posts)We don't do email or blogs on our phones.
Or text or send photos.
We just TALK.

(14,691 posts)they have a range of phones, even iPhones. (Mine's an Android). https://www.consumercellular.com/
Their customer service is U.S. based, which is important to me.
I'm saving a few bucks a month over MetroPCS, whose customer service sucks to the enth degree.

(43,049 posts)which also uses the Sprint network and I've had good coverage and few problems.
No contract 45 bucks a month with a $100 Motorola Android phone and I have unlimited everything I need and more.
(Just got an app to control my Philips "hue" lights from the phone, and is that ever neat...)

(6,719 posts)I have been considering a change so I am really interested in the people responding to you. Thanks for letting me piggyback! I want to do both the phone and the house wifi with credo. Have not called them. But mostly the decision is made and I will implement after a few other things get taken care of. The comments here encourage me.

(33,020 posts)I cannot rec them
1..they required I buy a particular phone to connect with their service.
1a my mom ALWAYS complained she couldn't hear me on their service. Doesn't happen now.
2..they when I did a non house wifi call, the connections to the major wireless company, in downtown Columbus were iffy. Some days I could not connect, a 3 foot walk to the side meant I could, otherwise I ehh . Bushwah...what if I needed the fire squad, an ambulance, or the cops, in a high rise area of downtown, CONNECT THE CALL(sorry for shouting) their service was spotty....not acceptable, if I need 911 from the same location on Tuesday, I should reach 911 on Friday in the same exact same downtown location.
3.. I could only talk with customer service thru google chrome, I had to down load chrome, then ask them a question. They did always return my customer service emails w/in 3 hrs timeframe.....sometimes waiting was ummm...not acceptable. If I want the fire department, I need the fire department THIS minute.
while the cost was low I would not rec them. I gather other non major portable phone companies are providing spotty service. Check Creedo carefully. Whose net work does Credo piggy back on? Can you do a trial with their service, without having to buy their 'preferred' phone'. What are all the charges? I threw a chuck of money into the wind trying to use a more inexpensive service. My error.
best wishes for effective and cost limited service.

(8,310 posts)Working Assets but I see they are now CREDO. I used to use WA and loved them. Then I left the country for a long time and now I only have a standard phone. BUT, my son still uses them and wouldn't trade for anything. We traveled together last fall across many states and he used his mobile everywhere with no problems.
"Working Assets was created in 1985 on a strong foundation of beliefs, a credo. Supporting peace, equality, human rights and the environment is the reason we exist. That is why each time one of our customers uses our mobile, credit card or long distance services, we donate a portion of their charges to these causes."
