Wednesday Blues Break: Texas Flood - Stevie Ray Vaughn Live at the El Macombo

SRV was on fire that night, but this tune in particular was a showcase of Stevie's skill, phrasing, tone, and passion. Among the very best live recordings IMO.

Couldn't believe it when I turned on the radio on that August day in '90 and heard the news. A true Blues giant. RIP Stevie.

I'm a huge SRV fan since I first heard him. Also got to see Jimmy Vaughn with The Fabulous Thunderbirds (with Kim Wilson) in Tucson too. The 'Family Style' album they did together is a classic.

Also from the same show:

When I heard about his death one morning as I showed up on the job, I went home.
