FERRELLTON, Pa. -
Customers were surprised to see a pig outside a Burger King restaurant in Somerset County on Thursday morning.
County 911 dispatchers were called about the pig running loose outside the restaurant on Route 30 in Ferrellton. Employee JJ Nichols said he noticed the pig when he arrived for work Thursday morning.
"I came around the corner around 5 a.m. behind us. I saw a black pig just sitting behind our door. I wasn't sure what it was. I was kind of scared. I got up and I realized it was a pig," Nichols said. "I was beating on the back door, yelling for a manager, and he was like, 'I'm not opening the door! Come around the side!'"
State police said the pig bit a female customer, who refused treatment.
"I watched it happen right here. It was crazy. The pig was really friendly. She was like, 'Hey!' And the pig just kind of walked up to her and bit her right on the foot," Nichols said.
Workers said it's a rural area, and farm animals sometimes get loose.

(20,176 posts)Not wild Canadian geese (which I hate) but actual domesticated geese. Farm geese.
There used to be a butcher shop on the site of the convenience store and the farmer next door used to sell his geese to the butcher for slaughter and sale. The butcher's son died in an accident right up the road and the butcher decided he just wanted to leave the area and liquidated his business on very-short notice. A local convenience store chain bought the shop, tore it down to expand their adjacent convenience store/gas station.
Well, the crazy 90ish-year-old goose farmer got pissed because now he's got all these geese and no market...so every few days, he lets them loose (like 30 geese) on the store parking lot and then insists those "aren't his geese."
