(22,767 posts)I hardly ever watch TV (would rather spend the time reading) but he's got it on every Sunday night especially, and pretty much every night, actually. He loves Call the Midwife, Downton Abbey, all the British murder mysteries, and most especially, Doc Martin. I have watched a couple of Doc Martin's with him, but can pass on them all. Many of the British comedies are carried here, but too late for us old folks. LOL
I did get sorta caught up in the Great British Baking Show for a bit, though, about half way through until the end (we both predicted Nancy would win, but he really wanted Martha to pull through, and I was pulling for either her or Richard. We both agree that Richard should have been the winner by the end.)
The one thing, though, that we both agree on: no Mr. Selfridge. For some reason that man's voice goes all up and down my back, he annoys the crap outta my husband, too. Since our house is so open in design, I can hear all of it and am soooo glad he doesn't like it so I don't have to hear it.
Now he's starting in on Wolf Hall tonight.
But I have a really hard time with babies crying and have to put up with that during Call the Midwife.

(22,767 posts)the last season has yet to be shown here yet. As usual, I believe this one was created and aired far ahead of U.S. distribution.

I appreciate the details, such as showing that during that time printing/reading the Bible could be a death sentence.
/on edit/ My bad. Should have included "....the Bible in English..."
