Really? The gore is so campy--the "dead" so very "Hollywood", I can't get worked up. hlthe2b Mar 2012 #2

I like the show because the premise of survival under such horrific circumstances is really compelling. But, the fear factor is just... NOT, at least for me.

And I, admittedly have a low threshold for heavy violence...

I want to enjoy the character interaction and the suspense, but don't want to look at rotting flesh. That said, most of the time I am not that way, most of the time I look at what a great or lousy job the make-up artists did. In general and especially for the closeups, the make-up is incredible.

....is the stuff that gets me or severing the tendons.

What is weird is that I cannot watch graphic surgical procedures on TV (real ones that have been filmed), but it doesn't bother me when in person (probably because I realize I have a job to do at the time).

I cringe when I see it on TV or at the movies. I hated watching when she was breaking the legs of those chickens for the barn walkers.

It is a very good thing that you don't have a problem with surgical procedures where you work, that would be rough.

I had to have dental surgery and a person was brought in to help, well I looked up at her and she had her head craned back toward the wall as far as she could, it really didn't give me too much confidence

I really do not like the images, or the violence. I know it's part of the story, but I can't watch it. Grosses me out, and the zombie stuff goes way back to fear of "the living dead" movies I saw when I was too young and impressionable.

But she watches it with me, squeezing the life out of my arm.
