Marta and I had lunch at a top hot 100 resturant in the US

Marta got a project bonus from work and the day off. She also a gift card to Pitch Pizza. We had been wanting to do this for several years. You know how that goes.

It was after 1PM when we got there. Post lunch rush. The only seats even at that time were at the bar. Don't worry the food and service were great.

Meatball appetizer. Served hot bathed in their sauce with bread. Wedge salad. Mia pizza.

No alcohol and tip were twice a regular pizza price. It was well worth it. We will be sure to go back.

I'll get Marta to add some flair to this tomorrow.

Pitch is the only Nebraska place on the list. Here is the list of hot 100: http://www.opentable.com/m/hottest-restaurants-in-america/

Pitch is building a second location. Pitch was started by Willie Theisen that also founded Godfather's pizza. I wish he had never sold Godfathers off. When he owned it, it was delicious. Herman Cain may have saved the company by making a cheaper product that tastes nothing like the original.

Pitch has kept the high quality product.

I was not surprised how many of them I've never been to. Just 1 - Rocco's Tacos. It was pretty good food but you can easily wait a good while for a table on busy nights and it is LOUD in there...nearly impossible for my wife and I and the couple we went with to have a conversation. They do have a shit-ton of tequila in there. (And that did ameliorate the irritation from the wait)

I noticed Sushi-POP on the list too and I;ve heard great things about that place so will definitely give it a try.

Oakland and Sonoma made the list, but not SF.

West Hollywood and LA had quite a few, no surprises there, but San Diego appears to be the new hot spot on the West Coast for fine dinning these day.

It had a five star Mobil rating. For a while it was in the top ten or fifteen restaurants in the country. All the guys who worked there ended up being friends to this day.
