The DU Lounge
Related: Culture Forums, Support ForumsWhat Are Singers'/Bands' Signature Songs?
Maybe bands don't have signature songs as much as singers do.
I'm not thinking of most popular songs. I'm thinking of songs that, when you hear them, make you think, "No one sings 'My Way' like Frank Sinatra. He owns that song."
Here are a few that I can think of.
Frank Sinatra - My Way
Kate Smith - God Bless America
Andy Williams - Moon River
For some reason, I can only think of oldies right now. How about you?

(95,337 posts)And so would most die-hard Led Zeppelin Fans.
It would really be a tie between Kashmir or Whole Lotta Love.
Page liked Stairway for the Guitar solo. Plant thought the song was a piece of shit and most of the diehard fans felt the same way as Plant.

LynneSin
(95,337 posts)I'd still go with "Kashmir" or "Whole Lotta Love"
"Stairway to Heaven" is a joke of bad musical writing
they own that song, which is what the OP also states.

(4,945 posts)I don't really need to post it, do I? "C'mon, you know the riff"
The ironic thing is that its instrumentation is unlike the archetypical "Lou Reed song" (two electric guitars, bass, drums)
