Has anyone ever ridden an ELF?

My wife is legally blind and we're preparing to relocate to a smallish town in Missouri and because it is an electrically assisted trike a drivers license is not required. This would be perfect for her to get to the grocery store or appointments that she can reach by the back roads and avoid the main streets. Since it would take us several hours to go to the main store in NC, I was curious if any here have tried one or knows someone who has.

1. I have seen one on the streets of Chapel Hill, but don't know any owners.
