we took a four-mile hike and i am bushed (super pic heavy)

it was chilly and we hit a few brief spats of rain, but it wasn't horrible weather for a hike. we sat and had some water and snacks when we got to the barn and enjoyed just being.

But in the mountains it would more likely be a yellow-bellied marmot (M. flaviventris) rather than a more lowland-dwelling groundhog (M. monax). </biology wiki-poseur >

Great shots!

but we were at about 7500 feet, so that's what lead me to marmot.

That first one is especially lovely! I love the contrasting dark green with the lighter color in front. Very pretty!

But they're all beautiful. The water rushing along must be grand to see! The flowers and your welcoming committee, and the Mad Creek Barn sign are all so good!

I'm glad to see you having so much fun and getting such good results from your new camera...

we're starting to pack up to head out, but the drive home might be a bit challenging with the snow that came through last night. i'm letting the husband handle the driving today.
