I just got back from back from Petsmart, bought my dog the "Chuckit" and have one question.

Why in the hell didn't I buy this awesome thing sooner? No dog slobber, no fighting over the ball, no busting my arm (which is pretty weak) trying to throw the ball. The only problem I had was that I just "chucked" it over our fence behind the woods to our neighbor's fence and went through their 2 fence gates and yard (please don't report me) to retrieve the ball.

For 16 bucks....amazing! I am so happy, and so is the Fenz! (Fenway)

Glad Fenway is happy, and hope you don't get report to the HOA for your minor and totally justified trespassing infraction.

And how old is he?
Our dog, Sally, is a border collie- heeler and loves retrieving a tennis ball, but now that she's 11 we go for shorter throws. Two of her favorite games are watching for the ball to roll/bounce off the roof and catching it after I toss it up there, and chasing the ball after I throw it against a gnarly tree trunk because it bounces off in unpredictable directions.

We adopted him from a rescue org 1 year ago. I've told this story before, so I apologize for boring some, but a woman adopted him at 2 months and brought him back at 8 months saying "she wasn't a dog person." The agency papers say lab/bassett, but his ears stand up like a chihuahua/terrier/corgi.....so I have no idea.

Here is a pic:

A nearby park or greenspace with lax leash enforcement is a must for those of us who lack acreage just to stretch out the range. We have a largish half acre yard but way too easy to overthrow still. If you get the bounces just right they can get quite acrobatic!

I buy them by the sack at Target for $8 or so. Frequently. Some lost, many torn asunder.

The only ball we have found that lasts is also a chuckit brand and is a flexible but solid flourescent thing that glows in the dark after being in the sun. The weather is starting to get warm enough for late evening play sessions.......

I think you're right, corgi lab- those ears are corgi-like; legs are corgi (dachshund, or basset). Have you 'googled' images of lab-corgi mix? There are a few that look similar to Fenway.
Here's a page of corgi mixed with other breeds- very interesting genetic combos!

I didn't even think of dachshund. Cute pics of the corgis. I used to dogsit for 2 corgis. They were great dogs, and they loved me.

He will literally chase a ball until he collapses. The only problem I have with it is it's a little too damn easy to 'Chuckit' and the goddam ball goes right over the wall if I'm not careful.

Once my German Shepherds 'captured' the ball, it was 'theirs'.
Oh, they'd bring it back.
But they wouldn't surrender it.

So...TWO balls.
When he'd returned with 'his' ball, I'd hold up 'my' ball.
Oh hell.
This was TOO much.
He'd drop his ball and fixate on my ball.
"I want ALL the balls!"

We could go on like this until he dropped from exhaustion.
