What a spectacle. George Miller has quite an imagination.

Zorro
(15,749 posts)I believe it is destined to be a post-apocalyptic classic.
It's best to see it on the big screen. I'll be curious to hear your impressions.

(56,828 posts)and a great post apocalyptic landscape - lots of souped up cars in all sorts of configurations. The story was driven by Furiosa, as I said below, but I didn't really see it hitting you over the head with this radical feminism the MRA seemed so in fear of in recent weeks.

(46,756 posts)You either like Mad Max movies, or you don't. This is Mad Max with every conceivable techno-trick in the book to gross you out. The first half pleases those who like speed and gore, and the second half pleases those who like feminist plots.
I happened to like it, but, wow. I thought it was pretty over the edge until I saw Outlander last night. Now I think anything goes these days.

(56,828 posts)just got back from it now. I didn't really see a huge feminist leaning in the movie (heck, Mel Gibson gave it a thumbs up) - it's nice to see the women in the role of heroes, but it was still Max that suggested they turn around and take the Citadel instead of driving 160 days through miles of nothing, with Furiosa and the others following his lead. It wasn't just a Mad Max movie, though, I'd say it was more Max and Furiosa, with her driving the story from the beginning.
