What music are you listening to right now? 6:15am & still wide awake.. Gold Dust Woman

by Fleetwood Mac. Just finished "Dreams", next up is "The Chain". I have a little bit of everything on my playlist... Ozzy, Aldo Nova, Black Sabbath, Jonny Lang, Insane Clown Posse, CCR, Bob Seger, Aerosmith, Kid Rock, The Rolling Stones, Jermaine Dupris with NAS, AC/DC, The Allman Brothers, Led Zepplin, Van Halen, Rev Theory, Paul Thorn, Jimi Hendrix, Marshall Tucker, Wet Willie, Nirvana, Lee Michaels, The Eagles and Westside Connection. I have one Country/Rap song from Big Smo & Dubble Wide titled "Hick Life" and "Panheads Forever" by David Allen Coe.

I listen to some pretty diverse music and can switch from "gangsta rap" to the Blues in the blink of an eye. In the time it took to post this I've gone from Fleetwood Mac to Ozzy's "Flying High Again"

Peace,

Ghost

A DUer turned me on to them. If I had to throw a label on it, I'd call it progressive death metal. It's very good if you are into dark, extreme music. They have a second album out and I'm awaiting on it's arrival in the mail.

It had a sound kind of like a mixture of Pink Floyd & The Moody Blues musically, and lyrics sort of Kurt Cobain-ish, IMHO... Thanks for sharing!

Wheatfield Soul was interesting. These Eyes made was in the top 10 in the US and the Guess Who got a lot of attention. Burton Cummings has a great voice that's very identifiable. Their American Woman LP had 3 top 10 singles. I was a big Guess Who fan.

The DKs, Devo, Talking Heads and B-52s were staple music at school.

Liege & Lief from Fairport Convention has been a favorite ever since I first discovered it. I like Sandy Denny, another great voice, and both Matty Groves and Tam Lin are icons for me.

If you feel like Strechin' Out, here's some Bootsy for you:

Have a great day.

quite a bit of Latino/Mexican music back in the 90's. I ran a construction crew and had anywhere from 8 to 13 Mexican men working for me. We worked out of town a lot, sometimes driving 12 hours to get to the job site. I would listen to my music for a little while, then let them put one of their CD's in and listen to them for a while.

It's not surprising you had difficulty with the words.

Spanish:

Caminemos bajo las estrellas.
Caminemos, María ...
Ya han callado todos los reyezuelos.
Ya se han fundido todos los anhelos
del día.

Caminemos por los empedrados
lejos del barullo gris.
Caminemos enamorados

mentiras.

Nuestras venas por el engaño
pueden juntarse
y por tu extraña desazón
seré siempre un buen compañero
de farsa.

Caminemos bajo las estrellas.
Caminemos, María ...
Ya han callado todos los reyezuelos.
Ya se han fundido todos los anhelos
del día.

English (Rough translation)

Let us walk under the stars.
Let us walk, Maria ...
All the kings have fallen silent.
Already they cast all hopes
of the day.

Let us walk the cobbled streets
far from the gray din.
Let us walk in love
among the hair of all the cats
from the neighborhood.

I already know that your instinct
is based in the moment.
That I am the fourth or fifth.
That your eyes are lying
when you cry.

I know that a fleet foot
wears any size that fits.
I also know that I will die
and Maria I also know
you are false.

But that does no matter
in our lives
and in this world there's nothing
better than spinning lies
between kisses

Our veins by deception
They can join
and to your strange uneasiness
I will always be a good companion
in this farce.

Let us walk under the stars.
Let us walk, Maria ...
All the kings have fallen silent.
Already they cast all hopes
of the day.

Sorry to hear about the cancer, hope you are doing as well as can be expected... or even better than expected.

I know it's no comparison to cancer, but when I quit drinking back in 1996 I immersed myself into Blues music and found it very soothing to the soul. Now, depending on my mood, I can go from AC/DC or Guns~n~Roses to B.B. King then on to some gangsta rap....

Peace and best wishes to you,

Ghost
