(102,282 posts)and boy... I truly would have NOTHING to say on that score... He may have a big fan base, but my thoughts on KW are much closer to the assessment David Crosby gave recently (and repeatedly). http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2015/06/26/david-crosby-kanye-west_n_7674128.html
I will say that I do still credit him (West) with having so bluntly put GWB* on notice post Katrina however.

I understand that some people liked it, but plenty loathed it with a passion as well.

(12,723 posts)I am not a fan but I have no problem with the genre. Sadly I mostly know him from his public displays of arrogance which does make me pre-judge.
OK, maybe he is a helluva producer but he sure as fuck can not sing. Now, a lot of us can not sing but a lot of us don't make people listen to us try to sing and get paid for it. I imagine that in his mind he killed it and Freddie Mercury should be happy he died to make room for Kanye.
I just can not stand the arrogant. Talent or not be at least a little humble because before you know it you are old and your career is over and some folks winder what they ever saw in you.

(56,828 posts)it's a really tough song to cover even decently by anybody, but I can't imagine it going well for Kanye
NewJeffCT
(56,828 posts)I'm normally pretty open minded on new artists interpreting older songs their own way, but Kanye pretty much crapped all over that classic.
Glee did a better version.

(100,076 posts)I saw Panic! At The Disco cover this song and it was awesome. They nailed it. Kanye on the other hand - did not nail it. That is one song that if you fuck it up people are going to remember it.
