Apartment etiquette question

Pipes are leaking behind the walls in my pantry, where the water heater resides. There is a good amount of water already covering my kitchen floor - too much for a mere mop. It is just after midnight. I have a small wet-dry vac. Should I wait until the morning to clean the water or should I risk pissing off my neighbors by running this fairly loud machine now?

If you wait until morning to vacuum up the water it could leak through the floor and cause some serious damage. Run the vacuum and apologize in the morning.

there will be more damage if you don't. Also calll your landlord. This is not something that can wait until the morning.

They're pretty good about this sort of thing as I've had plumbing issues the whole time I've lived here. But I can understand it being so late that I won't see anyone until the morning.

Got most of my stuff out of the pantry and ran the wet-vac for a little bit. Taking a break now and contemplating whether or not to break out the booze.

Water's leaking through my kitchen walls and when I stepped out to the hallway to take out shit from my pantry that needed to go, the ceiling's leaking out there too.

I'm gonna make me a big old batch of pasta salad, fill up my pitchers with water, make one last pot of real coffee and take a bath. And then I will crack open this bottle of spumante. Something tells me I'm going to be without running water for a while.
