star of the Jean Renoir films The Grand Illusion and the Rules Of The Game among many others. Dalio was Jewish and escaped from France with his wife Madeleine after the Nazis invaded. Dalio plays the croupier in Casablana ("your winnings, sir&quot and appeared in other films with Bogie like To Have And Have Not, Sirocco, and Sabrina. After the war, he did a lot of American TV in shows like Maverick and 77 Sunset Strip.


In another very cool movie, Passage To Marseille, Bogart plays a Frenchman during the war. Many of the same actors as in Casablanca appear (Claude Rains, Peter Lorre, Sydney Greenstreet) along with the beautiful French actress Michele Morgan. Passage To Marseille is almost never mentioned but I think it's one of Bogart's best.
