Today's skirmish with Goober, Gomer, and the Library staff. I make friends EVERYWHERE I GO.
Had to stop by the library briefly between sales calls. Cell phone was acting up so I decided to use one of the public-use computers for a moment. Two guys are in there on two separate computers and one of them is filling out an online form and reading the questions to the other one, and it went something like this:
GUY #1: Have you recently applied for any Social Security Assistance?
GUY #2: Huh?
Guy #1 (louder): HAVE YOU RECENTLY APPLIED FOR ANY SOCIAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE?
Guy #2: Recently?
Guy #1: Yes.
Guy #2: What was the question?
Guy #1: HAVE YOU RECENTLY APPLIED FOR ANY SOCIAL SECURITY ASSISTANCE?
Guy #2: Huh?
This went on for a good solid ten minutes, back and forth. Normally I go outside to make a phone call or duck into room but figured "f" it, these two goobers have been annoying me for ten minutes, I'm going to make a 60-second call.
About 30 seconds into it I have the guy from the front desk leaning over my shoulder saying "IF YOU ARE GOING TO USE YOUR PHONE PLEASE GO INTO A ROOM OR GO OUTSIDE."
I was ready to leave anyway and as I did I apologized for using the phone and said "Normally I wouldn't do that but these guys have been going back and forth for the last ten minutes, I didn't think a quick call would be any more annoying than me having to listen to them." And he replied "If you are going to use your phone please go into a room or outside."
It's been that kind of day.

Sorry to laugh but I know all about days like that!!
Guy in line was having issues with his masher taters.
Same "huh?" thing. Thought it was the same guy for a minute. Stood in line discussing his side orders for what seemed like a small eternity.
and you wonder how some people get through life.
