Is Mercury in retrograde?

I was in my supermarket yesterday and a young cashier was ringing up this lady's order who started telling her that she tried to commit suicide the day before and another lady in the store passing by heard it...she chimed in "There's God and the Devil and the Devil is winning!" She looked kinda mad.

I went to another line. That poor young cashier. She said she was just trying to do her job. She's gonna need counseling at this rate.

I got home and told my husband how strange an experience that was.

But have read hints that something about Pluto may 'disturb!' and Rick wrote this yesterday: The planets are so intense right now, I don't even know what to tell you. Keep your mouth shut unless you REALLY have to say something. Whew.

UH OH, granddaughter due to be born Oct 6 and I'll be driving to NJ then!!! YOIKS!

I'm so happy for you! You will have a wonderful time picking out clothes for the little girl and enjoying her just as you do her brothers/cousins!

As for Rick, well, I must be onto something. Republicans have totally lost their minds and should REALLY keep their mouths shut. Dems should push for more...

Yup. Day in absolute hell at the lab on Tuesday. Absolute effing hell for nearly 12 hours and 45 minutes. On 2 hours sleep to boot.

to the lab assistant supervisor. The sr. lab tech is an airhead and a procrastinator and left me a slew of half-done, unfinished stuff that should and could have been done on Monday. Failed to thaw out fresh QC (which takes 1-2 hours to thaw and is run 1st thing), mixed up fresh calibrator and cal'd something but apparently it was too much trouble to push 2 more buttons to cal 2 other things, instead left long back and forth notes between her and another tech for me to decipher).

And it was all downhill from there, with multiple, repeat failed QCs, a full day's worth of work in the 1st 4 hours, IT upgrading (disrupting) all the 'puters and in my way all day, the lab assistants chatting it up with IT so I ended up answering the phones all day, trying to find a doctor and then the patient for a critical result, and ended with a doctor calling 20 minutes before closing looking for results of tests he forgot to order...

I spent all day yesterday in bed, except for essential animal care.

Happily last night I dreamed I was in the arms of the love of my life. I woke up crying with happiness to feel his energy again...

Unless the cashier has a can labeled "psychiatrist, five cents".

but there should be a button somewhere that will summon security and managers, as a step toward getting actual help for the customer. If some stranger talks to me about suicide, and they seem serious, I hope I have the sense to call 911.

I get the feeling she was calming her.

Also, there must be some sort of training because we have a group home for developmentally handicapped individuals nearby and they shop in small groups with a staff member overseeing them. Some have hearing loss and talk quite loudly. And occasionally they want to try using the scanners (which I won't try to use because I'm kinda afraid of them...). They really want to be accepted for who they are and the store is quite welcoming as are the other customers. So I am sure the staff is trained in having exposure to folks with Down Syndrome and treating them with great respect.

Our new director started today. It took her a couple of minutes to get in her office, because she kept fumbling around with the keys. Then we had a teleconference, and the stupid system kicked us off twice. To add insult to injury, the organizer sent out an email informing us of a new number -- which I never got!
